본 연구에서는 디지털자료 운영 현황을 분석하여 도서관의 스마트디지털 환경을 위한 스마트도서관 도입에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 공공도서관 디지털자료실․디지털자료 담당자 213명을 대상으로 디지털자료 운영실태 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 응답 공공도서관의 80.8%가 디지털자료실을 운영하고 있으며, 평균 1.75명이 디지털자료 관리 업무를 담당하고 있다. 응답 공공도서관은 개방형 와이파이가 설치되어 있으나 5G 서비스는 11.3%만이 도입하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 응답 공공도서관이 가장 많이 보유하고 있는 디지털자료는 영상 콘텐츠(63.8%)이며, 다음으로 전자책(53.5%)과 오디오북(53.5%) 순으로 조사되었다. 그 외, 오디오북은 평균 781종, 영상 콘텐츠는 4,985종, 영상외 비도서 콘텐츠는 3,616종, 기타 디지털자료는 626종을 보유하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구는 도서관 스마트디지털 환경 구축과 스마트도서관 도입을 위한 기초 연구로서 향후 디지털 자료 활성화 방안, 스마트도서관 도입에 관한 사서의 인식조사 연구가 수행될 필요가 있다.
Abstract
In this study, we tried to provide basic materials necessary for introduction of smart libraries by analyzing present conditions of its operation based on the actual conditions of digital materials. For this study, a survey of actual use of digital materials is conducted for digital material rooms of public libraries in nationwide and 213 persons in charge of digital materials. As a result of this study, the followings are found: first, 80.8% of those public libraries responding to the survey operate digital material rooms and average 1.75 person is in charge of managing digital materials and open type Wi-Fis are installed in those public libraties but only 11.3% of those libraries provide 5G services; second, it is found that the digital data which are owned by those public libraries most are video contents (63.8%), e-books (53.5%) and audio books (53.5%) in order. In addition average number of types of audio books 781, video contents 4,985, nonbook contents except for video 3,616 and other digital data 626. This study is a basic research for introduction of smart library and it is necessary to conduct another study of a plan for future revitalization of digital materials and librarians’ awareness on introduction of smart library.
초록
본 연구의 목적은 대학도서관이 급격한 환경변화 속에 있는 대학의 환경을 반영하고, 정보기술의 발전을 반영함으로써 대학을 리드하는 기관으로서 우뚝 서기 위한 전략을 모색하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 대학도서관 사서들을 대상으로 설문을 수행하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학도서관 사서는 대학도서관과 관련된 빅이슈가 「대학도서관진흥법」, 대학도서관 평가 및 평가지표, 대학에서의 대학도서관의 가치, 대학도서관의 공간구성 및 기능변화라고 하였고, 대학의 환경변화, 정부의 대학에 대한 정책, 각종 국책사업, 각종 구조개혁이 대학도서관에 영향을 상당히 미친다고 하였다. 둘째, 대학도서관 사서는 도서관의 역할 변화로 학생의 정보자원 및 기술의 활용능력 향상, 학생의 독서능력 향상, 대학구성원의 연구능력 향상, 대학구성원 학습역량 향상 등에 기여할 수 있다고 하였다. 셋째, 대학도서관 사서는 이용자가 대학도서관에 가장 높게 요구하는 서비스를 전자책 및 정보자원의 확대 등으로 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study was carried out for the university library to find out a strategy to stand tall as an institution to lead the university, by reflecting the university environment having with drastic environmental changes and reflecting the evolution of information technology. As a result, first, university librarians responded that big issues related to the university library is the University Library Promotion Act, University Library evaluation and assessment indicators, the value of university libraries at the university, and changing spatial composition and functions of the university library. Second, university librarians responded that changes of the university environment, government policy on universities, various national projects, and various university reform policy significantly affect to the university library. Third, about what you think would be helpful to the crisis in their universities as changing role of the library, they responded that they can contribute in terms of improving students’ information and technology literacy, improving students’ reading skills, improving research capacity, and improve students’ learning ability. Fourth, they responded that services that users demand the highest in the university library will be expansion of e-books and information resource.
