초록

본 연구는 국내 시각장애인학교 도서관의 운영방향에 대한 기틀을 마련하고, 도서관 프로그램에 대한 실제 이용자의 인식정도를 반영한 체계적인 프로그램을 개발하기 위하여 진행되었다. 국내 시각장애 학교도서관 세 곳을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하였으며, 분석결과를 기반으로 시각장애인학교 도서관 프로그램 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 프레임워크의 적용가능성 및 효과성을 검증하기 위하여 연구팀과 각 학교의 교사 간의 협의를 통하여 각 학교의 상황에 맞는 총 10개의 프로그램을 설계하여 실제 학생들을 대상으로 수업을 실시하였다. 프로그램 종료 후 조사한 결과 도서관 이용 빈도, 독서량, 도서관에 대한 인식, 정보활용 및 자기주도적 학습의지의 영역에서 모두 긍정적인 반응이 증가한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Abstract

The study goals are establishing a library management plan for the school for the blind in Korea and also developing a structured library program, which reflected the patron’s perception. We surveyed the students in three schools for the blind to identify their perception and usage statistics of the libraries. The analysis of the survey led to a school library program framework consisting of four types. To verify the applicability and effectiveness of the framework, we designed ten programs to meet the needs of the schools by consulting respective school’s teachers. We administered the second survey after the classes, and we found that there were positive increases in the frequency of library use, a number of books read, perception about the libraries, amount of information used, and self-directed learning willingness.

본 연구는 영유아 도서의 자료조직 실태를 파악하기 위하여 J시에 소재한 8개 시립도서관 영유아실을 대상으로 자료조직 현황과 문제점을 분석하고 이를 토대로 개선방안을 제시하였다. 조사방법은 분석대상 도서관의 어린이실 담당 사서 8명, 영유아실을 방문한 부모 25명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 조사 결과, 모든 도서관에서 KDC를 적용하여 분류하고 있었으나 배가는 분류체계와는 달리 출판사명의 자모순 배가를 실시하고 있었다. 이러한 출판사별 배가 방식은 사서 측면에서는 정리의 편리성이 높은 것으로 평가되었으나 이용자들은 분류체계와 배가의 이원화로 인해 자료 검색의 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 온라인검색목록시스템의 검색 결과에 도서 위치에 대한 정확하고 충분한 정보가 제공되지 않는 경우가 많았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 (1) KDC를 유지하되 배가 방식을 청구기호 순으로 전환하는 방안과 (2) 새로운 영유아용 분류표를 개발하는 두 가지 개선방안을 제안하였다.

Abstract

With a purpose of investigating the current status of resource organization for infants and young children’s resources, this study examined 8 municipal libraries in J city and suggested recommendations for improvements. To do that, interviews were conducted with 8 children’s librarians and 25 users, who were parents visiting the libraries. All libraries examined were using KDC to classify young children’s resources, but books were shelved by the alphabetic order of publishers’ names. This arrangement strategy was regarded very convenient in re-shelving materials from the perspective of librarians, but users had difficulties in finding books because of the separation of the classification system and the arrangement system. Also, the online public cataloging system did not provide accurate and sufficient information to locate a book. Based on the results, this study suggested two ways for improvements: (1) classifying and arranging books by KDC, (2) developing a new classification system customized to infants and young children.

학교도서관의 협력망은 시·도교육청을 중심으로 구축되는 것이 바람직하다. 디지털자료실지원센터는 학교도서관의 업무를 지원하기 위해 시·도교육청에 설치되는 종합정보시스템이다. 부산광역시교육청은 교육인적자원부와 한국교육학술정보원의 디지털자료실 설치 및 디지털자료실지원센터 구축 사업의 지원을 받아, 학교도서관을 지원하기 위한 디지털자료실지원센터를 16개 시·도교육청 중에서 최초로 설치하였다. 본고는 먼저 디지털자료실지원센터를 구축하는데 적용된 정보시스템의 기반 기술과 외국의 정보시스템 사례를 살펴보고, 부산광역시교육청의 정보시스템을 소개하고 있다.

It''''s desirable to implement the network of school libraries based on the department of city or regional education. The digital library supporting center is an integrated information system implemented by the department of city or regional education for supporting school libraries. Busan Metropolitan Department of Education for the first time implemented a digital library supporting center, supported by digital libraries & the digital library supporting center project proceeded by the Department of Education and KERIS. This study at first is to present basic technologies applied in implementing a digital library supporting center and foreign country cases, and then to introduce information system of Busan Metropolitan Department of Education.

학술과 문화 기반의 비이념적 정보교류협력은 비정치적이면서도 장기적 관점에서 민족 동질성과 신뢰회복에 가장 효과적일 수 있는 남북한 협력사업의 영역이라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 통일 한국을 대비하여 단계적인 남북한 협력기반 조성을 위해 국가도서관을 매개로 한 남북 문화교류협력에 관한 방안들을 조사 분석하였다. 관련하여 북한도서관의 기능과 한계 및 현재적 관점에서의 사회적 활용성을 살펴보고, 그간의 도서관교류협력사업을 남북한 문화분야 협력사업이라는 틀안에서 검토하였다. 이에 협력 거버넌스 체계구축 등 다섯 가지 협력안을 기반으로 남북 도서관교류협력의 단계적 모형을 제안하였다.

Abstract

Non-ideological information exchange and cooperation based on the scholarly and cultural fields would be the most effective project of south and north Korea for gaining the national homogeneity and trust in the long-term perspective. In this context, this study researched the measures on cultural exchange and cooperation between south and north through national libraries for the unified Korea. Related with that issue, this study analyzed function and limitation of national library in north Korea and evaluated library cooperation between south and north Korea in the frame of cultural cooperation project. So, this study suggested the stepwise model of the library cooperation between south and north based on the five practical measures including the cooperation governance system.

북아이오와주립 대학도서관은 우수한 교양 커리큘럼을 지원하는 개별화 학습 환경과 다양한 지적, 문화적 커뮤니티를 지원하는 것을 사명으로 하고 있다. 1987년부터 전략적 계획을 수립하기 시작하여 현재 5년 단위로 전략적 계획을 수립하고 있으며, 최근 전략이 어느 정도 달성되고 있는가에 대한 성과측정의 필요성이 제기되었다. 이에 본 연구는 북아이오와주립 대학도서관의 최근 전략적 계획 2004-2009의 내용을 분석하여 전략을 균형성과표의 네 관점으로 전환하는 BSC 모형과 전략지도를 개발하였다. 이와 함께 각 관점별 전략적 목적을 측정하는 핵심성과측정지표와 이를 이끄는 동인들의 인과관계 모형을 개발하여 제시하였다.

Abstract

The University of Northern Iowa Rod Library has mission statement that a personalized learning environment founded on the strong liberal arts curriculum and to supporting an intellectually and culturally diverse community. The Rod Library has been developing the strategic plans by 5 years since 1987. Recently, the strategy has been faced need to measure of performance how much does make it up. This study developed the BSC model and the strategy map that analyze the strategic plan 2004-2009 of the University of Northern Iowa Rod library and transfer the strategy into the four perspectives of BSC. In addition, this study presented the success performance indicators measuring the strategic goals of each perspectives and the cause-effect model driving the lead indicators of performance.

본 연구는 대학의 교수와 학생 이용자가 전통적인 형태의 물리적 도서관과 온라인 정보이용 중심의 디지털 도서관이 혼합된 하이브리드 형태의 도서관 환경에서 대학도서관을 이용하고자 하는 행동 의도 즉, 도서관 이용 의도를 결정하는 요인들과 그 요인들 사이의 구조적 관계를 분석하고자 하였다. 대학의 주요 구성원 그룹이 가지고 있는 대학도서관에 대한 전반적인 인식을 조사하기 위하여 구조화된 설문지를 개발하여 자료를 수집하였고, 도서관 이용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인들 간의 관계 분석을 위해 사회심리학에서 빈번히 활용되는 행동-태도 이론을 바탕으로 본 연구의 목적에 적합하다고 판단되는 계획행동이론(TPB)과 기술수용모형(TAM)을 기반으로 한 통합모형을 제안하여 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구는 이용환경 변화에 따른 이용자의 도서관 이용에 대한 인식과 이용 의도를 물리적 도서관과 디지털도서관으로 나누어 각각 확인하였고, 이를 바탕으로 향후 도서관의 미래 전략 및 운영 방안에 대해 논의해 보고자 하였다는데 그 의의가 있다고 할 수 있으며, 본 연구의 결과는 대학도서관으로 하여금 변화하는 환경에서 생존하고 균형적인 성장을 이루기 위해서는 인지, 주목, 그리고 협력을 바탕으로 한 효과적이며 효율적인 운영전략을 수립하여야 한다는 점을 주지하고 있다.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors affecting behavioral intention of professors and students at universities to use academic libraries in a hybrid library environment where a traditional physical library is combined with a digital library that is centered on online information use. The structural relationships among factors were also analyzed in this study by utilizing a combined behavioural model which was based on TPB and TAM. This study identified users’ intention to use academic libraries according to changes in the use environment, and the findings of this study bring a valuable meaning to library administrators for setting up the strategic plan for the future of academic libraries. The results of this study imply that academic libraries should strategically setup an effective and efficient operating plan based on awareness, attention and cooperation, in order to survive as well as to accomplish balanced growth in rapidly changing environment.

시니어전환 시대를 맞이하여 도서관의 주 이용군으로 부상된 시니어를 대상으로 디지털환경에서 정보접근 및 검색 편의정도, 요구사항을 파악하였다. 이를 위하여 55세 이상의 국회도서관 이용자의 이용행태 및 검색행태를 조사하였고 이러한 행태와 만족도를 시니어 세대별 즉 베이비붐세대의 액티브시니어 그룹과 노인세대의 시니어 그룹으로 나누어 비교분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 국회도서관을 이용하는 노인세대는 여가를 목적으로 방문하며 정치․사회, 종교․철학, 역사․지리분야를 선호하였으나, 베이비붐세대는 자기계발을 목적으로 경제․재테크, 예술․문화 분야를 선호하는 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 검색을 실패하였을 경우 베이비붐세대의 시니어는 스스로 결과를 제어하는 반면, 노인세대는 사서에 의존도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 시니어 두 그룹 모두 장시간 전자도서관을 이용하면서 자료를 브라우징하고 있음에도 불구하고 전자도서관에서 제공하고 있는 편의․정제 기능에 대한 이용률이 저조하였다. 따라서 시니어의 이용을 활성화하고 편의성을 높이기 위해서는 시니어 전담사서가 필요하고 전자도서관을 이용하는 시니어를 위해 따로 도움말, 메뉴 설명이 필요 없는 직관적인 인터페이스가 개발될 필요가 있다. 이로써 현 이용자뿐만 아니라 잠재적 시니어들의 정보 리터러시 향상과 이용성 제고를 도모할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

Abstract

As coming Senior-Shift age, senior users are regarded as one of the importance user groups in the library. This study is to find the usage patterns and needs of libraries and digital libraries by 152 seniors and to compare with young-old age (baby boom generation) and elderly age. As a result, total seniors visited regularly and preferred political & social, religion & philosophy, and history & geography. While the baby boom generation are using the economy & finance, art & culture compared to the older. And the baby boom generation visit for self-development and the older visit for leisure purposes. Secondly, If the search fails, the baby boomers control the results themselves, while the older is more turn to the librarians. It can be described as the need for a librarian exclusively responsible for the senior. Thirdly, senior have difficulties in access and use of search aided tools or functions. Therefore, this study suggested that it is necessary to build an intuitive interface using the help and menu descriptions for senior who have poor access to convenience and define functions.

본 연구는 기업의 독서경영과 문화경영이 직원의 직무만족과 조직몰입을 높이는 데 도움이 된다는 선행연구들을 기반으로, 공공도서관 직원의 독서활동이 직무만족도와 조직몰입도에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 설문조사를 통해 수집된 데이터의 분석결과, 이용자 독서모임 참여 정도에 따라 직무자체 만족도, 인간관계 만족도, 자아실현 만족도, 정서적 몰입도, 지속적 몰입도에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한 공공도서관 직원의 독서량, 독서시간은 직무자체 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 독서시간은 정서적 몰입도에도 유의한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이용자 독서모임 참여 기간은 사회적 인식 만족도, 지속적 몰입도, 규범적 몰입도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 직무자체 만족도는 독서시간과 정서적 몰입도 간에 완전매개효과를 가지고 있었고, 사회적 인식 만족도는 이용자 독서모임 참여기간과 지속적 몰입도 및 규범적 몰입도 간에 완전매개효과를 가졌다. 이러한 결과에 따라 본 연구는 공공도서관의 독서경영 도입을 통한 직원 독서환경 조성을 위한 방안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 공공도서관 운영진의 독서경영에 대한 적극적인 관심이 필요하며, 직원들의 독서활동을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 제공해야 한다. 둘째, 공공도서관은 직원들의 이용자 독서모임에 참여를 도모하고, 담당 직원은 지속적으로 참여할 수 있도록 지원해야 한다. 셋째, 공공도서관 직원들의 적극적인 독서활동을 위한 기관 차원의 지속적인 동기부여가 필요하다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of reading activity of employees in public libraries on their job satisfaction and organizational commitment which was suggested by previous studies proving the relationship among the variables in the business area. The results from the survey indicate that there were significant differences in job satisfaction, satisfaction with human relationship, satisfaction of self-realization, affective commitment, and continuance commitment in terms of the frequency of participation in a book club. Additionally, the number of employees’ reading books and hours spent for reading significantly influenced their job satisfaction and the hours spent for reading significantly influenced affective commitment. It was also found that participation continuity for a book club influenced on satisfaction level of social recognition, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Job satisfaction level had a complete mediation effect between reading hours and affective commitment, and satisfaction from social recognition had a complete mediation effect between participation continuity in a reading meeting, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Based on these results, this study suggests a plan for constructing a good environment for employees to read through introducing a reading management as follows. Firstly, managers of public libraries need to take an active interest in reading management and various programs to encourage employees to read need to be provided. Secondly, public libraries are required to encourage their employees’ participation in book clubs and support them, so that the employees are able to participate in the book club consistently. Finally, institution-level consistent motivation is needed for an active reading activity.

도서관과 정보센터를 둘러싼 환경적인 변화와 함께, 다양한 관리 기법을 개발하고 이를 도서관 업무와 서비스에 적용시켜야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 관점하에서 새로운 경영 및 품질개선 기법으로서 6시그마를 도서관에 적용한 사례연구를 수행하였다. 특히 본 연구에는 6시그마 기법을 도서관에서 해외 학술정보를 입수하는 과정에 실제 적용하여 나타나는 문제점과 이를 해결할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 이를 위하여 제조업 분야에서 주로 적용되었던 6시그마 기법의 하나인 DMAIC 방법을 이용하였다. 결과적으로 6시그마 기법을 본 연구에서 목표하는 분야에 있어서 높은 개선 효과를 거둘 수 있었다.

Abstract

With the environmental changes around libraries and information center, they need to develop various management techniques and apply them to library works and services. In this research, a case study was conducted in a special library of IT company. This study was aimed for reducing ineffective components and unnecessary processes in library works and services. This study applied the Six sigma technique to improve the process of purchasing overseas academic and strategic information and users' a degree of satisfaction on information service. Specifically, this study used the five-step DMAIC(Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) method, mainly used in the manufacturing sector. As a result of this study, we could get epoch-making improvement.

This thesis is the study of the relationship between school libraries and academic achievement. This thesis defines research areas between school libraries and academic achievement, analyzes the representative related thesis, and them partly applies meta-analysis methodology. This thesis present research sciences, research methodologies, statistical techniques, and research pursuit pertinent to Korea for the sceitific research between school libraries and academic achievement. In the future, to develop school libraries in the long term, in-depth academic research must be developed. The focus of the research should include the MLS and Ph.D. thesis of education of information and library as a subject matter' field to analyze the relationship between school libraries and academic achievement.
