이 연구는 공공도서관 자원봉사자의 참여동기를 파악하고, 어떤 요인들이 자원봉사의 지속과 강도에 영향을 주는지를 109명의 대구지역 공공도서관 자원봉사자에 대한 설문조사를 바탕으로 하여 실증적으로 분석하였다. 공공도서관 자원봉사의 참여동기는 대부분 자기발전이나 성취감, 보람감과 지역사회의 문제해결 등으로 나타났으며, 선행연구에서 나타난 환경적 요인, 역할모델 요인, 보상요인, 인지요인 등이 자원봉사의 지속과 강도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 이 연구에서 새롭게 투입된 공공도서관에 대한 충성도는 공공도서관 자원봉사자의 지속과 강도에 영향을 주는 중요한 요인이 될 수 있는 것으로 조사되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the motivation of participation in the public library volunteers, and what factors influence on continuity and intensity of volunteer activity. It analyzed the questionnaires from 109 public library volunteers in Daegu Metropolitan City. First, public library volunteers were mainly participated by motivation for personal achievement and concerns on local welfare problems. Second, in case of the factors on the continuity and intensity of public library volunteer activity, four factors selected based on literature review had significant effects on each variables. Third, the loyalty on the public library newly investigated had also significant effects on the continuity and intensity of public library volunteer activity.

현재 공공도서관의 자원봉사자는 주로 내부 인력보충의 측면으로 관리되고 자원봉사자 관점에서의 고려가 부족하여 참여의 지속성과 경영효과가 제한적이다. 본 연구는 공공도서관 자원봉사자의 참여 동기와 지속 요인들을 검토하고 이 요인들이 자원봉사자의 만족도와 마케팅 의도에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 자원봉사자, 만족도, 동기요인에 대한 이론적 개념을 기반으로 각 변수에 대한 개념 및 측정요인을 확인하였으며, 자원봉사자 5명의 심층면담을 통해 연구가능성 및 고려요인을 검토하였다. 이를 바탕으로 개발된 설문지로 설문조사를 진행하여 수집된 데이터를 기반으로 통계분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 자원봉사자의 참여동기와 지속 요인은 보수 등의 관리적 요인보다 정서적·심리적 요인들이 자원봉사자 만족도와 마케팅 의도에 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 관계 중심적 관리 방식으로의 변화의 필요성을 나타내며 자원봉사자를 인력 충원의 관점으로 인식했던 것에서 더 나아가 자원봉사자의 만족을 기반으로 한 공공도서관의 마케팅 자원으로서 활용가치를 높였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Volunteers in public libraries are recognized only as internal manpower, so their sustainability and effectiveness are limited because the motivation for volunteering is hardly considered. This study aims to explore the motivation for volunteering in public libraries and the factors to continuation of the volunteering, and to analyze how these factors affect volunteer satisfaction and marketing intentions. To this end, the variables in this studies including satisfaction and motivation was defined operationally based on the related research and a pilot study with several in-depth interviews. A questionnaire survey was executed with the defined variables and the survey data were analyzed statistically. The results showed that the factors of emotional and psychological motivation influenced the satisfaction and marketing intention rather than the managerial factors such as remuneration. The results indicate the need for a change in volunteer management to a relationship-oriented management method. This study is meaningful in that it expands the value of volunteers in public libraries from as managerial to as marketing resources for public libraries.

사회가 발전하면서 자원봉사는 보편화되어 가고 있으며, 공공도서관 자원봉사도 양적, 질적 증가를 보이고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 공공도서관 자원봉사의 운영과 관리 실태를 분석하고 공공도서관 자원봉사의 활성화를 도모하기 위하여, 먼저 공공도서관 자원봉사에 대한 이론적 배경을 살펴본 후, 설문조사를 통하여 현재 우리나라 공공도서관 자원봉사의 운영과 관리 실태를 기획부문, 자원봉사자 관리부문, 행정부문으로 나누어 조사하고, 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 자원봉사의 활성화 방안과 전망을 제시함으로써 도서관 자원봉사의 운영 및 관리에 대한 이해 증진에 일조함에 그 목적이 있다.
Abstract
As the volunteer activity has become universal, volunteers of public libraries have also grown both quantitatively and qualitatively. In this context, this study builds a theoretical background on the volunteer activity of public libraries; examines the volunteer activity management of public libraries using survey method including its planning, personal management and administration; and suggests some recommendations to promote the voluntary activity of public libraries. By so doing, this study aims at enhancing our understanding on the volunteer activity management of public libraries.

본 연구의 목적은 아파트 단지 내 작은도서관에서의 자원봉사활동 경험이 지역공동체 의식 형성에 기여하게 되는 과정을 질적분석을 통해 알아보는 데 있다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 D 광역시 DS 구에 있는 5개 아파트 도서관에서 자원봉사활동을 하고 있는 33명의 봉사자와 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 분석결과 자원봉사활동의 시작은 본인이 도서관의 주 이용자가 되어서 도서관을 통해 긍정적 경험을 하고 동시에 도서관에 대한 문제점을 인식하면서인 것으로 나타났다. 자원봉사활동을 통해 그들은 지역주민들과 더욱 활발히 소통하게 되고 도서관이라는 공간을 함께하는 공간으로 인식하게 되며, 이러한 인식을 통해 자원봉사활동경험은 지역에 대한 공동체 의식을 형성하는데 기여하는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of volunteering experience at a small library in an apartment complex on the formation of a sense of community through a qualitative method. To achieve the study purpose, thirty-three volunteers from five small libraries in an apartment complex in DS-gu at D Metropolitan City were interviewed. According to the study results, they started volunteering at the libraries as a main user of the libraries. Through the volunteering experience, they had positive feelings about the libraries and were aware of the problems with the libraries. Furthermore, the volunteering experience facilitated communication among the residents of the apartment and they recognized the libraries as a shared community space. Finally, through the above processes, the volunteering experience contributes to formimg a sense of community.

본 연구에서 제안되는 세종시립도서관 정보서비스 및 프로그램은 국내 지역대표도서관 및 해외도서관 사례들을 종합하여 제안한다. 제안의 특징으로 첫째, 세종시립도서관에서 제공가능한 정보서비스를 영역별, 이용자별, 자료 유형별, 매체별, 협력기관별 등으로 다양하게 제안한다. 둘째, 생애주기별 이용자프로그램을 강화하여 독서토론, 독서체험, 독서 이벤트 등의 다양한 연령별․관심별 독서 프로그램을 제공한다. 성인, 어린이, 가족프로그램 등 세종시 인구 특성을 반영한 이용자 기반의 프로그램을 강화한다. 셋째, 메이커스페이스 공간을 확보하여 활용한다. 넷째, 세종시립도서관에서 개발한 독서 프로그램을 지역 도서관과 협력하여 홍보 및 공유한다. 다섯째, 세종시 지역주민의 봉사 활동 및 재능 기부 등의 참여를 유도한다. 여섯째, 도서관 웹사이트, 소셜 미디어 등을 활용한 도서관 정보서비스를 제안하고, 이용자와의 상호 협력 채널을 개발한다.
Abstract
Sejong City Library information services and programs proposed in this study are proposed by combining cases of local representative libraries and overseas libraries. As a feature of the proposal, first, various information services that can be provided by the Sejong City Library are proposed by area, by user, by data type, by media, by partner institution, etc. Second, by reinforcing user programs for each life cycle, various reading programs by age and interest, such as reading discussion, reading experience, and reading events, are provided. Reinforce user-based programs that reflect the characteristics of Sejong City’s population, such as adult, child, and family programs. Third, secure and utilize maker space space. Fourth, the reading program developed by the Sejong City Library is promoted and shared in cooperation with local libraries. Fifth, induce participation of local residents in Sejong City, volunteer activities and talent donation. Sixth, propose library information services using library websites and social media, and develop channels for mutual cooperation with users.

본 연구는 최근 도서관의 아웃리치서비스의 일환으로 전개되고 있는 팝업도서관 모델의 운영방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 특히 국가적 재난 및 대규모 행사 등의 사회적 이슈 현장에 도서관이 팝업도서관을 설치하여 정확하고 다양한 정보를 제공함으로써 시민의 알 권리를 충족시켜줄 수 있는 방안에 초점을 맞추었다. 연구를 위해 시민 대상의 설문조사와 세월호 여객선 침몰 사고 자원봉사자 및 2013년 부산국제영화제 참가자와의 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 조사결과 정보접근성의 보장이 필요한 정보제약 상황에서 구성원간의 소통과 현장의 정보가 부족했다는 점이 문제로 지적되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 정보제약 상황에서의 팝업도서관 모델 운영방안을 제안하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to propose a management plan of the pop-up library model that is developed as part of the outreach library service recently. Especially this study focused the method for meeting the citizen’s right to know by providing various information of the pop-up library in social fields such as a national disasters. The survey and In-depth interview (a volunteer of Sewol ferry disaster and a participant of 2013 Busan International Film Festival) were done for this research. As the results of the investigation, the lack of communication and information between members in constrained situations were pointed pointed out as important problems. With these findings, this study suggested the pop-up library model management plan in information-constrained situations.

2013년, 500세대 이상의 공동주택단지에 작은도서관 설치를 의무화하는 규정 제정과 정부의 ‘생활 SOC 사업’에 따라 작은도서관이 지속적으로 확충되고 있다. 광명시의 경우, 2020년을 시민과 함께 권한을 나누는 ‘주민자치의 해’로 정하고, 이의 일환으로 생활문화공간을 대폭 확대한다고 공표하였다. 이처럼 사회 환경 및 이용자의 요구가 변화할 것으로 예측됨에 따라 광명시 작은도서관은 이에 대응하는 중장기계획 실천방안이 마련되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 변화하는 사회 환경 및 이용자의 요구에 대처하기 위한 작은도서관 활성화 정책방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 광명시 작은도서관 운영자를 대상으로 설문조사와 심층그룹인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 다음과 같은 정책을 제안하였다. 첫째, 운영제도 개선을 위해 지원제도 개선, 공공도서관의 협력체계 강화 및 공립 작은도서관의 역할 강화, 사립 작은도서관의 공공성 강화, 역량별 평가를 통한 차등 지원이 필요하다. 둘째, 작은도서관 운영 전문성 강화를 위해 순회사서 및 전문가 봉사자 활용, 상호대차를 통한 자료 공유, 임기제 협력사서, 권역별 작은도서관 협의회 활성화가 필요하다.
Abstract
Small libraries have continued to be extended since 2013 enactment of regulations requiring establishment of small libraries in multi family housing complex not less than 500 households and the ‘Living SOC Project’ of national government. Gwangmyeong city designated the year of 2020 as the ‘year of citizen autonomy’ sharing the authority with citizens and publicly announced its plan to rapidly extend the living and cultural spaces as a part of that extension. Likewise, as the social environment and the need of users are expected to change, it seems that the small libraries in Gyangmyeong City must prepare a plan for practicing a long and mid term practices in responding to that change. Thus, this Study tries to make a suggestion for a plan for the policy for revitalization of small libraries in order to handle those changing social environment and the need of users. For this, a survey and in-depth group interview were conducted for the operators of the small libraries in Gyangmyeong City. As a result of this Study, the following policies are suggested: first, improvement of support system for improving operational system, strengthening of cooperative system of public libraries, and strengthening of role of public small libraries , strengthening of public characters of private small libraties and differentiated support through evaluation based on abilities; and second, it is necessary for utilization of circulating librarians and professional volunteers, sharing of materials through mutual lending of books, associate librarians having term of office and revitalization of small library conference by regions.
